I was thinking about what to name this post deaturing the three pairs of shoes I pruchased recently until I realised there was a common denominator- they all cost me $19! My purchases where two pairs of heeled boots from my trip; a chocolate brown Jeffrey Campbell Lita look-a-like and a plum coloured 70s esque boot. Now I actually don't know if it is 70s ish, it just kind of reminds me (perhaps it's just the colour) of pairings with washed out denim or bell bottoms or other flares and jersey crops... I don't know, I'm a bit strange when it comes to shoes sometimes. My last pair was burgundy creeper boots from Boohoo. Now on to the shoes:
Chocolate brown Lita look-a-likes
Yes, I know, I'm one of those people if they really like the original design of something will go for that over the rip off (or at least try to, unless the rip off is better or I just don't have the money), plus they're usually always miles high in quality like my actual JC's. That said, I couldn't pass up this buy for the price it was and it was just a great everyday piece for my university wardrobe without being too flashy like my spikes. These are incredibly comfortable and quite a good replica made of decent quality with a suede like material and a plastic heel. I've yet to see how this fairs out over a few hours but so far it's been completely fine while I'm so glad for as I definitely need the boost of height!
I-think-these-are-70s-like- Plum Platform Boots
I feel like these are more chunkier than my faux litas, but posted like this they don't really look as chunky as I originally thought. These are a little less comfortable than the shoes above, but I think the real test comes when I wear them out for an 8 hour school day! I chose this over the black version because I think I need to inject some colour into my shoes as save for one or two, I'm strictly all black with my shoes.
Lastly I bought these creeper boots which I've wanted for the longest time on eBay but they've always been too expensive or not had my size or the colour I've wanted. Recently I was browsing Boohoo's winter clearance and saw these go down from $70 to $30 to $24 and with my Unidays discount of 20% I got these under the $20 mark and knew I needed to have them before they sold out. Sadly these are a bit big for me because I got a size 39 or a UK 6/AU 8 thinking these would be the stock that they get from Asia as I've seen quite a few pairs of shoes that circulate eBay on there such as these Hell Yes rip offs for $40 or $32 with a discount which is a complete steal! My feet are also a bit irregular but an insole and some thick socks makes it fit well, and considering after a few wears my feet adjust to shoes (sometimes I think a shoe is too big and it turns out too small? weird huh). These shoes have a grungey feel to them which makes me want to pair them with boyfriend jeans and disheveled tees, I really love the 90s grunge aesthetic, much like most people on the internet it seems haha. If I had to pick out a flaw with these it'd have to be that these aren't as tall as they saw they are! The site lists them as having a 4cm/1.5 inch platform but it's more like 1.5cm so be warned if you wanted something thick, because these are only single platform creepers.
So, what did you think? Love it? Hate it? Either way, I'd love to hear what you think about these!
P. S. I'm hoping to have an outfit post up soon, hopefully by the end of the week featuring my American Apparel 90s high waisted jeans and I feel like they might become a regular feature in my posts.
Til next time!
