A (Realistic) Back to Uni Wishlist

As you may/may not know, a new year of uni is fast approaching in two weeks (we tend to start school years close to the beginning of the calendar year here) and I decided to compile a list of things (that I could realistically afford) as my back to uni wishlist. I'm about to start my second year at university, though it's at a different uni and course to what I was doing last year so I'm a first year again which is making me super nervous! Anyway, in the interest of keeping my posts less lengthy, I've decided to mash up the images into categories for your reading pleasure. Let's start:

 1) Ella Studded Fisherman Jumper from Boohoo, $24-30 (depending on your student discount!)
If the weather repeats as it did last year, then I know I'll definately need some chunky knits and this fisherman sweater from Boohoo looks like a perfect piece to keep you warm and just chuck on with a pair of jeans and head out the door. I love the studs on the shoulders- it really brings it out from being way too plain and it comes in some of my favourite colours- black & wine! It really gives off the vibe of many higher end fisherman sweaters like the Topshop & American Apparel ones. What's an added bonus is that they also have spring colours in these too like mint and a peach colour here which I adore, but they're a bit more at the moment.

2) ASOS PETITE Studded Skinny Trousers in High Shine from ASOS, $29
Yes, I seem to be a tad obsessed with studded items as well but I feel like this will be a trend that transcends seasons, or at least I want it to be because it's just one of the greatest things to resurface. I also love the disco pant style, which you can probably see from it's repeated use in my looks, so I really want to try out a variation that's a little more budget friendly than American Apparel's scary price tags. ASOS also has their disco pant in a variety of colours in petite and standard sizing and a hotpant version here

3) Mya Aztec Cardigan from Boohoo, $24-30 (depending on your student discount!)
As I've said before, I know it's going to get cold as soon as I start uni and this cardigan looks nice and chunky to just throw over any outfit or keep myself nice and cosy when I'm on the bus, as they're usually 10 degrees colder than outside (weird, right?). The Aztec print and colouring give it this great vintage vibe that I'm really into at the moment and I know it will look good with all my denim, leggings and even simple dresses. I just get the feeling that I'll be like a little marshmallow in this haha.

4) Studded Backpack by 1&20 Blackbirds from The Iconic, $49.95
This is number one on my list for bags this year as I don't have a bag yet for uni and wanted to go with something that wasn't super in your face like the bright blue bag I had last year, and also, really just wanted a backpack. This bag is a combination of leather and studs and just looks so darn cute that I know it'll look good with everything and be totally comfortable to keep for everyday. If black isn't your thing, this bag also comes in white and camo!
Usually I'm not one to look on the Iconic because it's not really the best in looking for low cost items, but I thought I'd give it a go to check if the Windsor & Smith boots I wanted were on sale (they sadly were not). In terms of shipping and returns, the Iconic has a great system for Australian shoppers whereby you can get free overnight shipping on orders over $20 and if you live within Sydney (which I'm guessing is inner city perhaps) you can get it shipped in 3 hours for only $10, plus there's free returns for your item for 100 days. Pretty cool, no?

5) Kitty Face Tote Bags from eBay, $20
I've loved the look of this tote bag ever since I saw it on Sophie from The Milk Club and just recently found out that you can buy it on Taobao (which I've been meaning to try, I think I'll give it a go around my birthday) and since I found way too many things on that site that I wanted to which I did not have the $$$ to fund I turned to eBay finding this the cheapest at $20. It's got a somewhat creepy smaller cat bag version that I think would come in handy when going out to the shops, but I just love everything cats (much like the world) and this kitty bag takes the cake. It's so adorable and I wish I could conjure it up and cover it in badges.

6) Classic Handbag by Atmos&Here from The Iconic, $29.95
I really didn't want to indulge myself into buying a proper handbag that would probably make me want to saw off my shoulders, that is... until I saw this bag. I'm fairly sure it's the structured nature of the handbag that drew me to this, and how it could give a burst of sophistication to any outfit, especially those in the spring/summer which I seem to ignore as if the heat does not exist. It even comes with a detachable shoulder strap so you can hang it off your shoulder in a more casual way- I'm not one to like wearing bags like that but the bag has it's own voice that's calling out to me telling me to adopt this into my style and I may just listen.

7) The Bloq Boot in Black Velvet by Y.R.U. from Urban Outfitters, $80
I have been madly in love with Y.R.U. since I first laid eyes on their collection and most up, the original Bloq Boot. It's part military boot part 90s child part I can squish you like a bug and boost my height by a grand 3 inches!! I've linked in Urban Outfitters because this is the most cost effective for me, Karmaloop coming in second at $83 with a rep code in use. I'm yearning for these velvet boots because I love the pairing of velvet and rainbow laces, how it would just make a great everyday boot for uni and how it adds a bit more dimension to any outfit. I am definately cazy about Y.R.U. because they are brilliant. Can you tell they're my favourite shoe brand at the moment? Right now I'm tossing up between buying these and:

8) Direct Black/Gold by Lipstick from Lipstick Shoes, $79.95
These. Are. The. Cheapest. Coltrane. Look. A. Likes. I. Have. Seen. In. A. Store.
And even though the Coltrane has had it's long run and it's probably 'out' for most people, I have loved the Coltrane ever since I saw the replica (materials, style, everything) at Windsor and Smith for a ridiculous price. Holding those shoes in my hands made me want to cry because they were incredibly expensive and my situation with my spiked litas' price being smashed to smithereens (making me feel like I'd wasted a lot of money) has lead me to not want to buy expensive shoes because expensive shoes can become non expensive and you should just wait sometimes. I've had enough of waiting though, and even though the gold buckle is putting me off a bit, it's the precious cut out boot I've wanted for a long time! Lipstick also have another cut out boot which I've filed away for get-it-when-it-hits-sale and their ankle boot collection has impressed me quite a bit as it's completely on trend and not delaying the inevitable rise of cut outs and studs. The gold makes me think this is a cross between the Roscoe & Coltrane, nevertheless, I'll need your help on this. Shall I get it or wait for the Coltrane to hit the sales? The spiked version is already up on sale on Karmaloop here (I am just bombarding you with links today aren't I?) so I'm thinking about if I should go for that instead. Or should I just go for the Y.R.U boot? Or should I go for this:

9) The Qozmo Shoe in Black by Y.R.U. from Karmaloop, $76
These are basically Buffalo platforms at a consumer friendly cost. Words cannot express how awesome I find the look of this shoe, and with a 4 inch platform I don't know why I don't have it already.

10) Wine Bowknot Headband from eBay, $2.45
Okay, I'm sure you get it, I love this colour, but there's so much that can be in berry coloured that I need! I'm not one for accessories and I think my ear piercings have finally closed up too much to my dismay because I really wanted to start seeing earrings in a full time commitment. The one thing I do bother with is hair accessories and I guess when I'm feeling girly this would give a perfect retro touch, as well as, you know... keeping my hair out of my face when it gets windy. This also comes in a bright blue if you're more into that.

11) 80s Badge Pack from eBay, $11.
These are the buttons I mentioned before that I wanted to hypothetically stick on the hypothetically mine kitty bag. As I just mentioned how much I don't accessories I thought I could also try showing my flair through customization by adding these to my bags, clothes and even shoes (???). Another badge pack I'm in jonesing for is a Sailor Moon badge set, because I will always show my dedication to that series. You can get those here.

12) Navy Rib Socks by River Island from ASOS, $15 (with a student discount!)
Yes, I'm aware these are mens socks but there's a few things I find great about these- first the colour, which is basically my year round palette, that they come in bulk rather than single overpriced ones for women's, and that you can pop these over your jeans at the bottom and make some chunky sock-warmer style thing (I guess I'll have to show you what I mean by that hey?). Oh, and if you're not a weirdo like me, you could wear them with skirts and boots.

Thus concludes my I-thought-I-wasn't-going-to-talk-too-much-but-I-did wishlist post. Like or hate my picks? Think I should go with the (insert shoe of your choice) over the (insert other two shoes not of your choice)? Have some essentials that have served you well that I should add as a buy to my ever growing list of things to buy? Or just think I talk to much? I'd really love to hear back from you all.
